The mother of all cookies...i promise you this!

So I got this recipe off my fabulous friend Kaela's blog today..and we had a ward party tonight...so I thought I'd whip up a batch. THANK HEAVENS THAT I HALVED THE BATCH! I used our kitchen aid and it was totally overflowing!!! But I can't even tell you how amazingly delicious they are. The dough was delish and then the cookies baked were even more phenomenal. I am in love. You all need to make them...and honestly- if you do not have a ginormous bowl...then half the recipe. Thank you Kaela for sharing!!

Monster Cookies

1 doz. eggs
2 lb. brown sugar
4 c. sugar
1 lb. butter
16 c. oatmeal (must be old fashioned rolled oats)
3 lb. peanut butter
1 lb. plain M & M's
1 lb. chocolate chips
8 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. vanilla

Cream eggs, sugar, vanilla, butter, peanut butter, soda and other ingredients. Mix in very large dish pan. Drop by ice cream scoop on to cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.

This recipe makes a HUGE batch. Get out your biggest mixing bowl and get ready to do some major mixing. This recipe can be halved easily. Whatever you don't use, can be freezed easily!

P. to the S. I forgot to buy M&Ms so I just added more choc chips..which was okay for me anyway, since I've never really loved M&M's in cookie. But do what you will.

P.P.S- So I decided to add a picture of the cookie dough (cuz don't you worry...i just made some more this morning. whatever) but the picture is after I'd mixed in the oatmeal and chocolate chips a little bit..so it had settled a smidge.

just throwin this out to the universe.....

should we have t-shirts made for our upcoming NKOTB concert?

We have plenty of time to come up with a design..its not until November. i'm so excited- fun times will be had by all. that is, if i'm still alive by november. i'm not PLANNING on dying, but you never know. crazier things have happened.

My prayers tonight will need to include the words.. please just let me live long enough to see my elementary school crush Jordan in concert. After that- I'm all yours.

I just wish that I still had the biographies that my mom was kind enough to let me get through the book order in elementary school. I also had tapes, a hot pink duffle bag that said NKOTB, a couple posters, a pillow and i think thats it. Who knew they'd make such a comeback all these years later.

GO FIGHT WIN NKOTB!

Need I Say More

The following is why I am such good friends with my sisters. I just received this email from my sister Anneke (the subject of the email was OH MY GOSH!!!!):

"ARE YOU SERIOUS???DID YOU GUYS HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT THIS??????I MEAN, WE CANNOT MISS THIS!!

IT's TRICKY

I had a BEYOND FABULOUS weekend.

Might I share some highlights:

We went to a Birthday party for the cutest lady in my ward on Friday night and played Karaoke on the PS2 with some hilariously fun people from my ward. But for me the best part of the night was hearing my Bishop sing 'Love Shack' and impersonating the guy's voice to a Tee!!!!!! It was hilarious- although I don't know that 'hilarious' really truly explains the greatness of it all.

Saturday we had a BBQ and played Wii at my brother's house. I texted my cute sister thats in VA to tell her that I was so excited to play Wii with my brother Aaron cuz i KNEW he would get way into it......I totally called it. Not only did he literally hit me in the head and nearly hit his innocent by stander wife in the head while playing wii tennis, but he full on DOVE for a ball - STILL JUST WII TENNIS MIND YOU, NOT REAL LIFE- THE WHOLE GAME CAN BE PLAYED WITH A FLICK OF THE WRIST!- and landed on his knees...oh. my. gosh. PURE GOLD! I am so dying laughing right now just thinking about it!! It was thee greatest moment of my life. And I'm sure a high point for his wife and children. TOO FUNNY!

Don't worry thats not all he did- later during wii bowling, he was bowling with such force that the controller flew out of his hand and flew up and chipped their ceiling. Luckily it didn't hit their light fixture. It was so ridiculous- we died laughing. After that he gladly wore the wrist strap.

But really- his ridiculousness blended right in with all the rest of us. We all had our own victory dances and yelled and cheered and celebrated way too much. It was so great.

I love my family.

(oh ps- HOW DARE I?! I totally almost forgot...we bought a fondue pot and took it to the bbq on saturday, and Brad made some delicious chocolate fondue. I love you Fransy)

Why is there a piece of SHOE on your head?

This is exactly why people like me SHOULDN'T vote.

Brad: We need to vote tonight.

Andrea: Vote? Oh.....Yeah..for So You Think You Can Dance.

Brad: ..........no. For the Republican Primaries.

Andrea: Oh. Woops.

sweet love

1 1/2 hrs until the weekend. here i sit listening to New Kids on the Block.

could life be sweeter? nay.

Youre my popsicle! From the very first time I met you girl you cap-tured-me.Youre my popsicle! All I know is you make me feel so fancy free.
pop POP pop POP pop..POPSICLEpop POP pop POP pop..POPSICLE

(ok- theres a million things that could be sweeter than still being at work and listening to NKOTB..but whatever)

talk to me tiny dancer

so yesterday 5/8 was mine and Brads (brad and mines, me and brads brad and i's...how do i say it??) 4 year anniversary of our first date! woo hooo. unfortunately I was home sick from work yesterday and just didn't really feel good all day. So yeah, its a wonder we went to freaking (sorry mom, but i DO say freaking, and I dont know if i can quit) Wendys of all places for dinner. oh well. we got to meet Elder Perry- so it was well worth it.

Brad and I have been married for 3 years and 8 months, but our first date was 4 years ago...so you do the math. But I basically knew from the second I saw him at church that he was the hottest babe ever! I was sitting at the front because I was speaking (this was at BYU so it was stadium seating..so the pulpit was at the lowest part of the room) and I kept leaning to the side to try to look around the pulpit at him. My friends were like who the heck are you looking at- and I tried to point him out, but they couldnt figure out who I was looking at. So anyway. I love him and he is the sweetest most helpful loving happy guy ever and he cracks me up every single day. I'm glad he came to church that day so that we could fall instantly and madly in love!!! XOXOXOXO

Might I just digress for a moment here while Im thinking about Wendys. Why does it really bother me that their commercials say something like- Its not fast food..its Wendys. or Its more than fast food...its Wendys. Cuz um no you idiots..its just fast food. And not even very good fast food. So stop acting like youre so amazing and above fast food, because you are so not. You are the epitimy of fast food. done.

double doy

So i tried to do this post last night..but our internet would not work. grr.

But Brad and I went to Wendys last night- the Wendys by the Target in Orem. There were only 4 other people in there. 2 girls and then an older couple. The older lady kept looking at me while I was getting the ketchup and napkins...and I thought it was odd. But anywho- when we sat down Brad said "um ANDREA, thats L. Tom Perry and his wife!" I was like- "no its not." But I turned around and looked and sure enough- it WAS! I had been like 2 feet away from them while I was getting napkins and ketchup and didn't even realize. I didn't even look at him because I was distracted by his wife looking at me.

Anyway- we went over and said hi- it was a smidge awkward cuz they were trying to eat their frostys. But thats ok- I got to meet Elder Perry!

thank you brad for the perfect graphic

not to steal from my sister Amy but..

It's been 16 years since my Dad died. We all love him and miss him tons!

something that makes ME smile

my cute mom started a BLOG!

woohoo

now something to make you giggle/smile/stare blankly/think i'm retarded...etc

Brad asked me yesterday if I had ever tried to runaway. The answer is Yes.

I was young - 7,8,9 ish - I have NO idea now what had made me so mad that I had packed a bag and was prepared to get the heck outta dodge..But I only made it to the bottom of the stairs.

My family was all leaving to go to Artic Circle for FHE.

I dropped my bag and joined them.

(Needless to say..im easily swayed by food)

something to make you gag

So last night I was working on a quilt and Brad was watching tv in the other room and I could of course hear it seeing how our house is about 3 inches big. But he was watching Modern Marvels and the modern marvel being discussed was rats. (Which are neither so Modern, nor so Marvelous if you ask me.)

Anyway- I think I forever lost my appetite for Peanut Butter and now reading up on it more..for all food. Goodbye cruel world- I will be withering away to nothingness starting NOW.

Apparently the FDA allows a certain number of insect "material", rodent hairs etc in food- counting it as "natural contaminations"

Here are some of the levels that food has to reach before the FDA will take action:

CHOCOLATE AND CHOCOLATE LIQUOR

  • Insect filth: Average is 60 or more insect fragments per 100 grams when 6 100-gram subsamples are examined OR any 1 subsample contains 90 or more insect fragments

  • Rodent filth: Average is 1 or more rodent hairs per 100 grams in 6 100-gram subsamples examined OR any 1 subsample contains 3 or more rodent hairs

CITRUS FRUIT JUICES, CANNED

  • Insects and insect eggs: 5 or more Drosophila and other fly eggs per 250 ml or 1 or more maggots per 250 ml

RED FISH AND OCEAN PERCH

  • Parasites: 3% of the fillets examined contain 1 or more parasites accompanied by pus pockets

MACARONI AND NOODLE PRODUCTS

  • Insect filth: Average of 225 insect fragments or more per 225 grams in 6 or more subsamples

  • Rodent filth: Average of 4.5 rodent hairs or more per 225 grams in 6 or more subsamples

PEANUT BUTTER

  • Insect filth: Average of 30 or more insect fragments per 100 grams

  • Rodent filth: Average of 1 or more rodent hairs per 100 grams

POPCORN

  • Rodent filth: 1 or more rodent excreta pellets are found in 1 or more subsamples, and 1 or more rodent hairs are found in 2 or more other subsamples OR 2 or more rodent hairs per pound and rodent hair is found in 50% or more of the subsamples OR 20 or more gnawed grains per pound and rodent hair is found in 50% or more of the subsamples

WHEAT FLOUR

  • Insect filth: Average of 75 or more insect fragments per 50 grams

  • Rodent filth: Average of 1 or more rodent hairs per 50 grams

Oh my gosh- im like so gagged out right. *GAGGGGGGGGING* I know I should maybe not be so squeamish for after all, I've been eating these things apparently all my life. But the thought of it.......df;oaijsdfoasidjf;laskdjfaosdifj;asldkfjas;dlf BLAHG!
